The Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC) program provides businesses with an incentive to hire people from groups with high unemployment rates or other special employment needs.  It allows businesses to claim a federal income tax credit of up to $2,400 for wages paid to eligible job candidates in their first year of employment.

The Welfare to Work Tax Credit (WTW) program provides businesses with an incentive to hire long-term family assistance recipients.  Your business can claim a federal income tax credit of up to $8,500 during the first two years that you employ a long-term recipient of certain welfare payments.

The programs have strict administrative requirements.  For example, you must certify a job applicant's eligibility at the relevant State Workforce Agency (SWA).  You must send certification paperwork to the SWA within twenty one days of a new hire's first day of work.  These credits cannot be applied retroactively, so it is critical to collect data, prepare forms, and submit certification packages on an ongoing basis--all within twenty one days of each new hire's start date.

This is where Kiosite and Walton Management come in.  Walton processes thousands of WOTC and WTW applications per month for hundreds of clients nationwide.  Our high-volume process discipline has been honed over more than twenty years of administering these credits and their predecessors.  Our approach effortlessly incorporates data collection into your hiring process, and results in SWA certifications with no further work on your part.

Despite the well-publicized nature of WOTC and WTW, nearly eighty percent of eligible business fail to apply for them--either due to a misunderstanding as to the credit applicability or due to an overwhelming administrative burden.  With HireTrue, there is no longer any reason to miss out.
